
Job description
Sacramento workers’ compensation defense law firm has an immediate need for a legal assistant. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of current workers’ compensation legal assistant experience. We are seeking individuals that are motivated, enthusiastic, self-starters, and team players.
Responsibilities
· Scheduling, calendaring and sending out medical / legal appointment notices
· Scheduling, calendaring and sending out deposition notices
· E-filing pleadings and documents with the WCAB
· Requesting PQME panels with the DWC Medical Unit
· Sending PQME and AME evaluators advocacy letters and records
· Sending out correspondence to parties
· Setting up new files, sending out Notice of Representation
· Provide necessary telephone support
· Scanning/uploading/naming of documents; e-mailing various documents to parties
Requirements
· Good communication skills; excellent spelling and grammar
· Good dependability and punctuality and attention to detail
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work well in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
· Proficient with Windows 11 OS
· Proficient with MS Office 365 Suite
· Familiarity with e-filing with the WCAB would be ideal
· Familiarity with MerusCase would be ideal, otherwise familiarity with cloud based programs
· Ability to identify urgency and prioritize tasks accordingly
· Ability to manage time and multitask effectively
· Ability to operate business machines such as photocopy and scanning equipment
Job Type: Full-time in office, Monday – Friday 8:30 to 5:00
Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour commensurate with experience
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
