Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to family law attorneys, ensuring smooth case management and effective client communication. Your expertise will help facilitate a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support proceedings. Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements related to family law cases
• Conduct thorough legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and procedural requirements specific to family law and other practice areas such as estate planning, immigration law, and tribal law
• Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accurate and organized recordkeeping
• Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather pertinent information for case development
• Draft correspondence, legal summaries, and reports with clarity and precision while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• Coordinate court filings, service of process, and scheduling of hearings or mediations in compliance with procedural laws
• Support attorneys with general administrative tasks such as data entry, proofreading documents, managing deadlines, and maintaining organized files

Qualifications

• Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in family law; familiarity with civil litigation support is a plus
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with legal case management software including PCLaw is highly desirable
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients and court personnel
• Knowledge of procedural law requirements across various jurisdictions; familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law, UCC law, landlord-tenant law, tribal regulations or immigration law is advantageous
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), document review platforms like iManage or Word processing tools for drafting legal documents
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly; experience in legal writing and proofreading is essential
• Demonstrated project management skills; capable of supporting attorneys through complex case workflows while adhering to deadlines

Pay: $56,400.00 - $68,000.00 per year
