Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, elevated client service and the ability to work efficiently. We believe in maximizing the value that our paralegals bring to our firm and clients by entrusting them with high-level work that is commensurate with their qualifications. Paralegals do the bulk of the drafting of pleadings, discovery, and case correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients, witnesses, experts, judicial officers, opposing counsel and their staff.
  • Comfortable acting as client's main contact and attending client meetings
  • Compose, prepare, and answer correspondence with clients and case-related experts.
  • Calendaring, reminders, and scheduling management for 40+ cases.
  • Interact with courts regarding hearings, motions etc.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents: petitions, summons, subpoenas, motion pleadings, declarations, court orders, parenting plans, discovery and other documents as needed.
  • Assist with trial preparation including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and court filings.
  • Prepare and review discovery, including answers to interrogatories and requests for production requests.
  • Assist lawyers in the preparation of depositions, hearings, trials, mediations and conferences.
  • Organize and analyze large volumes of financial documents, including preparing asset/debt spreadsheets.
  • Draft child support worksheets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of family law experience under an attorney in a law firm setting.
  • Experience filing in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.
  • Comfortable with billable hour requirements and delegating tasks to legal assistants.
  • Comfortable with practice management systems (Clio), billings systems, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and customer service skills.
  • Paralegal professional certification or advanced paralegal education.
  • Talented communicator and writer.
  • Understanding of the nuances related to family law (with understanding of the court procedures in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties).

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including in-person, by phone, by email, and in virtual meetings.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for company events and in-person training.
  • If working remotely, candidates must have access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a workspace conducive to focused work and client confidentiality.

Position Details

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 annually. Employees may also be eligible for additional discretionary compensation based on performance. This range represents a good faith estimate as of the posting date, with final offers determined by the candidate's experience and qualifications.
  • Schedule: 40-hour work week, Monday – Friday
  • Education: Associate degree required. Must have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education.
  • Work Location: Must reside in Washington State, ideally within the Seattle metropolitan region. We offer flexible work arrangements including remote or hybrid options based out of our Kirkland, WA or Bellevue, WA locations. This position will require in-office time during onboarding.
