Real Estate Finance Associate (Mid-Level to Senior)

Position Overview

A premier Real Estate Practice Group is seeking a mid-level to senior associate to join its team in New York. The ideal candidate will work on complex, high-stakes real estate transactions, managing deal components both independently and as part of collaborative legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Financings: Structure, draft, and negotiate lender- and borrower-side mortgage and mezzanine financings.
  
  

• Acquisitions & Dispositions: Manage components of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and related due diligence.
  
  

• Joint Ventures: Structure and negotiate joint venture (JV) deals and equity investments.
  
  

• Client Engagement: Manage primary client relationships directly, offering legal counsel and practical business judgment throughout transactions.
  
  

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of commercial real estate finance and transactional experience in a law firm setting.
  
  

• Class Year: JD Class of 2017 to 2023.
  
  

• Licensure: Currently licensed to practice law in New York, or eligible to become licensed in NY.
  
  

• Skills: Strong analytical, drafting, and verbal communication skills; excellent business acumen; ability to run workstreams independently.
  
  

• Credentials: Excellent academic record and professional references.
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $260,000 – $435,000 (Base salary, commensurate with experience)
  
  

• Bonus: Hours-based bonus eligibility
