Your role is an important part of realizing this dream and representing clients in a time when they are hurting and need support.

Position Overview:

The pre-litigation team is comprised of case managers and insurance specialists that work with clients to get a case either to settle pre-trial or in a good place to file suit. The goal of the pre-litigation supervising attorney is to effectively supervise and support the pre-litigation team, offering guidance that will increase client compensation. In addition, the pre-litigation supervising attorney is to review all cases in pre-litigation to determine which cases require escalation. Ultimately, the pre-litigation supervising attorney is responsible for the closure of all pre-litigation cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute directives and legal tasks assigned by AJZ including high-priority case management.
  • Review case assignment for all pre-litigation cases and ensure case manager follow-up within 48 hours.
  • Review cases during case manager department meeting to identify cases requiring escalation to lit and other strategic legal moves to increase compensation.
  • Complete 1x monthly review of all pre-litigation cases.
  • Operate independently to ensure that cases are managed appropriately within statute of limitations, accounting for legal differences in various jurisdictions
  • Ensure case managers are completing treatment updates as required by Zayed Law Offices policy
  • Craft a bi-weekly case management department meeting agenda and host the meeting to increase staff efficiency
  • Consult with AJZ regarding appropriate negotiation strategy to maximize client compensation on pre-litigation cases with special circumstances preventing settlement
  • Promote a professional office culture by upholding confidentiality, integrity, and strong internal communication.
  • Communicate department concerns and ideas in weekly operations meeting
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Job Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth plaintiff knowledge to maximize client compensation
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle high-priority cases, coordinate multiple deadlines, and maintain meticulously organized records and case files.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling clear and professional interactions with clients, staff and other attorneys
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, skilled in preparing accurate specials summaries, treatment updates, and settlement statements with precision.
  • Proficient in managing staff including timeliness, organization and ability to have difficult conversations with staff and the ability to support professional growth of others

Education and/or Experience Required:

Juris Doctor from Accredited Law School

Active License to Practice Law in Illinois (Additional States is preferred but not required)

1-year minimum personal injury or plaintiff litigation experience

Physical Demands of the Job:

While performing job duties, staff may be sitting for an extended period of time. Job responsibilities may also require occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Frequent use of telephone and computer is required.

Benefits:

Health Insurance coverage is available 60 days after hire. New Employees receive Zayed Law Offices clothing after 4 weeks of employment. PTO, both vacation and sick days are available after 6 months of employment. Annual paid time off consists of 2 weeks of vacation, 2 days of sick leave and 4 flex hours. Working lunches are provided on occasion to support employee health and productivity.

Performance Standards & Review:

All Zayed Law Offices Employees complete a 90-day probationary period in their employment to ensure that they are in the right role and in compliance with the basic position requirements. All employees have an annual review in which their professional progress in the law office is monitored. Reviews are kept in HR files for the employees and are confidential.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

  • Legal Team Management: 4 years (Preferred)
