About Redondo Law

Redondo Law is a growing boutique personal injury law firm based in Miami representing injured clients throughout Florida.

We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal who wants meaningful responsibility, direct interaction with attorneys and clients, and the opportunity to take ownership of cases from litigation filing through resolution or trial.

We are a small, collaborative team that values excellent work, responsiveness, accountability, and client service. Our goal is to provide our team with the resources and autonomy necessary to do great work without the bureaucracy of a large firm.

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate already understands Florida personal injury litigation and is comfortable independently managing the paralegal side of an active litigation docket.

Selected applicants will complete a brief written screening exercise before advancing to the interview stage.

The Role

The Litigation Paralegal works directly with attorneys to manage personal injury cases throughout the litigation process.

The successful candidate should be capable of independently managing deadlines, discovery, court filings, client communications, depositions, hearings, mediation preparation, and trial preparation with limited day-to-day supervision.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their cases, anticipates what needs to happen next, and keeps matters moving rather than waiting to be told what to do.

All substantive legal work is performed under attorney supervision and in accordance with applicable Florida Bar requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage personal injury litigation files from filing through settlement or trial.
  • Draft complaints, motions, notices, subpoenas, correspondence, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare and coordinate responses to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, discovery, medical treatment, depositions, and other case-related matters.
  • Work with clients to gather information and prepare discovery responses.
  • Maintain and monitor litigation deadlines, court deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, independent medical examinations, expert evaluations, and other litigation events.
  • Prepare exhibits, records, medical documentation, deposition materials, and other materials for hearings, mediations, and trial.
  • Assist attorneys with deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
  • Review medical records, bills, discovery materials, pleadings, and other case documents.
  • Prepare subpoenas and coordinate the collection of medical records, billing records, employment records, and other evidence.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
  • Ensure court filings are properly prepared, filed, and calendared.
  • Communicate professionally with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, experts, vendors, medical providers, and other third parties.
  • Proactively identify missing information, upcoming deadlines, and potential issues requiring attorney attention.
  • Provide occasional administrative or legal-assistant coverage as needed in a collaborative small-firm environment.
  • Perform other litigation-related duties as reasonably necessary.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Litigation Paralegal at Redondo Law:

  • Stays ahead of deadlines rather than reacting to them.
  • Takes ownership of assigned cases.
  • Keeps files organized, current, and moving toward resolution.
  • Produces accurate, polished work with strong attention to detail.
  • Communicates proactively with attorneys and clients.
  • Identifies problems and proposes solutions.
  • Requires limited supervision for routine litigation tasks.
  • Understands when an issue requires attorney involvement.
  • Treats clients professionally and with empathy.
  • Works well in a fast-paced but collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of paralegal or comparable litigation experience.
  • Prior experience handling personal injury litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of the Florida litigation process.
  • Experience preparing and responding to discovery.
  • Experience with court filings, litigation deadlines, depositions, mediations, and hearing preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple active cases.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional client communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work full-time in our Miami office.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are preferred but not required:

  • Three or more years of Florida personal injury litigation experience.
  • Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or formal paralegal education.
  • Experience with first-party insurance claims.
  • Experience preparing cases for trial.
  • Prior plaintiff-side personal injury experience.
  • Experience using Filevine or comparable legal case-management software.
