DOI Engagements, Complaints & Regulatory Response
Manage intake, logging, triage, and deadline tracking for complaints, Department of Insurance inquiries, market conduct requests, and regulatory correspondence.
Draft, proofread, and coordinate response materials under attorney or compliance leadership supervision, ensuring accuracy, consistency, appropriate documentation, and timely submission.
Collect evidence, supporting documentation, claim file information, correspondence, and business records from appropriate internal business units as needed.
Maintain organized regulatory engagement files, complaint records, submission packages, correspondence logs, and escalation documentation.
Maintain complete records showing request receipt, documentation reviewed, response activity, submission status, and deadline completion.
State Filings, TPA Support & Compliance Tracking
Support state regulatory filings, annual filings, licensing documentation, TPA-related submissions, filing calendars, renewal tracking, and related evidence packages.
Assist with documentation related to TPA agreements, plan sponsor relationships, delegated administrative services, regulatory notices, bonds, insurance documentation, and regulated business requirements.
Track regulatory deadlines, filing obligations, supporting materials, submission status, and follow-up items to support timely and complete filings.
Contracts, Procurement Support & Legal Due Diligence
Support contract intake, contract routing, execution tracking, version control, renewal calendars, amendments, statements of work, certificates of insurance, and related legal documentation.
Assist with vendor due diligence documentation, including agreements, business associate agreements, security addenda, SOC reports, insurance documentation, compliance attestations, licensing records, and related vendor file materials.
Maintain organized contract and legal matter files so records are complete, current, and available for business, legal, regulatory, or audit review.
Legal Operations & Documentation Management
Conduct legal and regulatory research on statutes, regulations, filing requirements, precedent materials, and industry requirements as directed by counsel or compliance leadership.
Support legal and compliance leadership with documentation, case preparation, regulatory response materials, contract support, policy support, and risk mitigation activities.
Develop and maintain checklists, templates, trackers, matter files, filing records, and response playbooks for recurring legal, regulatory, and compliance workflows.
Ensure legal and compliance obligations, approvals, submissions, correspondence, and supporting evidence are retained in designated repositories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Operations, Claims, Customer Service, Clinical, IT, and other business teams to gather documentation and support legal, regulatory, contract, procurement, and audit workflows.
Serve as a documentation liaison while protecting confidential and privileged materials and maintaining appropriate legal and compliance review channels.
Help create practical checklists, intake forms, filing guides, templates, and response playbooks for recurring legal and regulatory matters.
Qualifications
3+ years of paralegal, legal assistant, legal operations, regulatory, insurance, healthcare, or compliance documentation experience required; experience supporting Department of Insurance matters is strongly preferred.
Paralegal certification (CP/CLA) or equivalent credentials.
Strong organizational and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience drafting, reviewing, organizing, and managing legal, regulatory, contract, procurement, or compliance correspondence and supporting documentation.
Experience maintaining legal registers, complaint logs, contract trackers, filing calendars, matter files, case management systems, or document repositories.
Working knowledge of Department of Insurance inquiries, regulatory complaint processes, state filings, insurance administration, healthcare operations, TPA services, or contract documentation is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage competing deadlines, identify next steps, follow through independently, and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Professional discretion and proven ability to handle confidential, privileged, legal, regulatory, vendor, and business-sensitive information.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: 65,000- 80,000
Work Location: Omaha-based employees will work in-office or on a hybrid schedule. We are also remote-friendly for employees located outside of the Omaha area.
