Paralegal - Family Law

The Law Office of Bryan Fagan
📍 San Antonio, TX·Posted Today
💰 $50k–$75k/yr
Focus on the strategy, not the search. The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is a rapidly growing Texas firm focused on family law, estate planning & probate, and criminal defense. With 16 locations across the state—including two offices in Houston (Corporate and The Heights) and individual offices in Abilene, Atascocita, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Galveston, Humble, Kingwood, Richmond, Rockwall, San Antonio, The Woodlands, and Victoria—we provide clients with accessible, high-quality representation close to home.

As a Paralegal – Family Law, you will play a central role in delivering that representation. You’ll join a team where paralegals are treated as strategic partners, not just support staff, and where your expertise in Texas family law directly shapes case outcomes. You will manage a busy docket of divorces, SAPCR matters, modifications, enforcement actions, and related EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) work, helping clients navigate some of the most challenging seasons of their lives with professionalism, clarity, and empathy.
In this role, you will own the day-to-day progression of your cases—coordinating with attorneys, clients, courts, and third parties to keep matters moving forward. You’ll draft substantive pleadings and discovery, lead the discovery and inventory process (including tracing separate property funds and spotting “red flags” in financial disclosures), and help ensure every file is trial-ready. You’ll also maintain accurate calendaring, filings, and billable time so that both our clients and our internal teams can rely on precise, up-to-date information.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you enjoy complex problem-solving, take pride in meticulous work product, and want to build a long-term career in Texas family law within a firm that genuinely values work-life balance, this role will give you the platform and support to do your best work.

What You’ll Do

Our paralegal teams are the backbone of our advocacy and practice strategy. We strive to provide a true team-based environment that protects your work-life balance. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in family law to drive meaningful results for our clients, navigating them through their toughest chapters with professionalism and empathy.

  • Case Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of family law and EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) matters from inception through resolution.
  • Strategic Drafting: Craft substantive pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses with a high degree of technical accuracy.
  • Discovery & Inventory: Lead the discovery and inventory process, including tracing separate property funds and identifying "red flags" in complex financial affidavits or business valuations.
  • Trial Readiness: Partner with attorneys to curate trial exhibits, organize trial notebooks, and manage ongoing RFOs (Requests for Order).
  • Administrative Precision: Oversee court filings, maintain rigorous calendaring for hearings and deadlines, and ensure billable hours are captured accurately.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience as a paralegal.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in E-Filing across various state court portals and staying current with local rules.
  • Software Expert: Fluent in Clio/MyCase, Google Suite, and modern document management systems.
  • Ethical Anchor: A professional who understands the line between legal information and legal advice and remains calm under the pressure of emotionally charged litigation.
  • Team Leader: A self-starter capable of providing mentorship and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

What You’ll Get

We value our paralegal team as the backbone of our firm and compensate accordingly. We offer a "Big Law" structure with a "Boutique" focus on people.

  • Competitive Earnings: A base salary commensurate with experience plus earn up to $35K more with our attractive billable hour bonus plan, paid out every paycheck!
  • Essentials: 401(k) with up to 5% company match, medical/dental/vision, and full benefits.
  • Real Balance: PTO, company holidays, and an earned hybrid option designed to protect your work-life balance and mental health.
  • Investment in your success: A full week of training will start you off with success as well as the offer to support CLEs as needed.
  • Real Support: You focus on the strategy; our marketing and administrative engine handles the rest.
