Position Overview

Gig Restart Solutions is seeking a dependable, organized, and client-focused Paralegal – Driver Reactivation & Case Support to assist rideshare and gig-economy drivers experiencing account deactivation and reactivation issues involving platforms such as Uber and Lyft.

This position combines paralegal and administrative support, client communication, case-file management, document preparation, deadline tracking, and in-person court attendance throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with clients, reviewing supporting documentation, managing multiple matters simultaneously, and maintaining accurate and confidential records.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers seeking assistance with rideshare deactivation and reactivation matters.
• Conduct client intake and gather relevant information, correspondence, screenshots, appeal decisions, earnings records, and other supporting documentation.
• Communicate with clients by telephone, email, and text regarding documentation, deadlines, hearings, and case status.
• Organize and maintain electronic case files and supporting evidence.
• Assist with preparing court forms, case-related documents, correspondence, statements, exhibits, and administrative materials under appropriate supervision.
• Review client files for missing or incomplete information and follow up with clients as necessary.
• Conduct basic legal and procedural research related to court filing requirements, service procedures, and case administration.
• Track court dates, filing deadlines, client appointments, follow-up dates, and other important case milestones.
• Maintain detailed case notes and update internal case-management systems.
• Assist clients throughout the administrative aspects of the dispute and reactivation process.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client and business information.

Court Attendance & Travel

Court attendance is an essential requirement of this position. The Paralegal must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to courthouses throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Responsibilities may include accompanying clients to scheduled hearings, assisting with organization of their case materials, taking notes, helping clients navigate administrative court procedures, and reporting the outcome and required follow-up actions to Gig Restart Solutions.

The Paralegal will not provide legal advice or represent clients in court unless independently licensed and legally authorized to do so.

Qualifications

Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information professionally. Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, case manager, court clerk, administrative professional, or client-support specialist is preferred.

A paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or related legal education is preferred but may not be required for candidates with relevant experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, electronic document management, online court systems, and case-management platforms is beneficial.

We are seeking someone who is compassionate when working with drivers experiencing loss of income or employment opportunities, but who can also remain professional and organized. The successful candidate will be dependable, responsive, comfortable visiting courthouses, capable of meeting deadlines, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
