The Firm offers a supportive and collegial environment where individual contributions are recognized and celebrated, and hard work is balanced with personal fulfillment and responsibilities. THE OPPORTUNITYWeintraub Tobin is seeking a full-time Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal (40 hours per week) in the Sacramento office to join our Labor & Employment (L&E) practice group. This hybrid position combines the responsibilities of a litigation secretary and litigation paralegal. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, proactive, and tech-savvy. This role includes a monthly billable hour requirement of 60 hours, with expectations for regular time tracking and meeting monthly billable targets. A hybrid work arrangement may be available after 90 days, with four (4) days in the office and one (1) day remote.RESPONSIBILITIESSecretarial SupportMaintain attorney calendars and coordinate court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, client meetings, conferences, and travel, while monitoring critical deadlines and filing requirementsFile documents electronically with state and federal courtsComplete and submit conflict check and new client matter formsPerform administrative tasks such as time entry, expense reporting, and billingAssist in preparation and finalizing legal documents Maintain all client matter files and documents within iManageRepresent attorneys by communicating and obtaining information, following up on delegated assignments, and exercising sound judgment regarding matters requiring attorney attentionCoordinate and schedule couriers, court reporters, and expert witnessesAct as a liaison between various internal departments, as well as outside vendorsSend, receive, and manage attorney email and facsimile communications, as neededRead, sort, and distribute incoming mail; prepare and process outgoing mail in accordance with office procedures,      coordinating special delivery services when necessaryPhotocopy, scan, assemble, and distribute documents and binders as requiredAdditional duties as needed, including assisting other paralegals and secretariesParalegal SupportAssist with PAGA/class action timecard/wage record analysis and damages calculations using ExcelCreate and maintain internal case databases including importing and exporting documents, searching for documents, running productions, running analytics and email threading, document review and coding documentsPrepare subpoenas, track their service and compliance, and ensure timely follow through on all related legal processesConduct document searches using e-Discovery and perform factual research via Westlaw and online sourcesAssist attorneys in preparing for depositions by gathering and preparing documents relevant to the deponent, and organizing exhibitsOversee the progress of documents through litigation, order transcripts/records, etc. from third party entities and fulfill requests from outside counsel and othersPrepare for and attend trials/arbitrations: Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents and materials, coordinate trial set-up and logistics, operate and manage trial presentation tools, and assist attorneys in the courtroomHandle all aspects of discovery: organize, review, analyze, and summarize discovery responses; respond to discovery requests; and prepare subpoenas to third partiesDemonstrate strong analytical and technical skills throughout all phases of litigation
