Litigation Attorney (Remote/Hybrid)

About the Role

MFox Law Group, Inc. is seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join our growing boutique law firm. This is a remote or hybrid position that combines regular in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely. Candidates must remain available for court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and other in-person obligations as needed.

Our practice focuses primarily on business and commercial litigation, employment matters, contract disputes, real estate matters, and other complex civil disputes in California state and federal courts.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, practical problem solver, and self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of assignments while working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and experts. This position offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to develop as a well-rounded litigator.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters through all stages of the case, including initial case assessment, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and post-judgment proceedings.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with the firm’s attorneys and clients.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or comparable legal research platforms.
• Take and defend depositions, attend mediations, participate in settlement negotiations, and appear at court hearings.
• Prepare witnesses, organize evidence, work with expert witnesses, and assist with trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, deadlines, and next steps.
• Maintain accurate case records and consistently comply with court rules, procedural requirements, and internal deadlines.
• Work closely with the firm’s attorneys and legal support team to move matters forward efficiently.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• At least 2-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, substantive motions, and other litigation documents.
• Experience taking or defending depositions and appearing at hearings.
• Familiarity with California civil procedure, local court rules, and litigation deadlines.
• Ability to independently manage assignments, prioritize deadlines, and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, judgment, professionalism, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment while remaining responsive and accessible to the team and clients.
• Trial experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with business, employment, contract, real estate, or other complex civil litigation is a plus

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
