About Beaumont Tashjian

Beaumont Tashjian is a premier California law firm specializing in the representation of homeowners associations (HOAs) and common interest developments (CIDs). For more than 50 years, our firm has provided comprehensive legal services in general counsel, litigation, and judicial foreclosure collections.

Our clients range from single-family residential communities and condominium developments to high-rise, commercial, and mixed-use properties throughout California.

With a growing team of attorneys and a well-established client base, we are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our Agoura Hills office and become an integral part of our expanding litigation practice.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil litigator who wants meaningful case responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to build a long-term practice within a highly specialized and established law firm.

The position is primarily litigation focused. The successful candidate will manage HOA-related civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, with the support of an experienced legal team.

Because we are a boutique firm, our attorneys also have the opportunity to develop broader experience advising HOA boards and community managers and assisting with occasional general counsel matters.

Prior HOA experience is strongly preferred but not required. We welcome experienced litigators from complementary practice areas who are interested in developing expertise in community association law.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage an active civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
  • Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Appear at court hearings, case management conferences, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Develop litigation strategy and advise HOA boards of directors and community managers regarding disputes, risk, and potential resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal opinions, correspondence, discovery, and settlement agreements.
  • Work directly with clients and opposing counsel to efficiently advance and resolve matters.
  • Assist with limited general counsel matters, including contract review, governing document interpretation, and day-to-day legal advice as needed.
  • Collaborate with shareholders, attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants while maintaining primary responsibility for assigned matters.

Qualifications

  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Strong experience independently managing cases and litigation deadlines.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational and case-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and colleagues.
  • HOA, real estate, construction defect, business litigation, or insurance defense experience is preferred.
  • Deposition, mediation, arbitration, and courtroom experience strongly preferred.
  • Trial experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $175,000–$185,000, depending on experience.
  • Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with substantial HOA, real estate, or directly related litigation experience.
  • $5,000 signing bonus paid after 90 days.
  • Reasonable 155-hour monthly billable requirement.
  • Quarterly production bonuses for attorneys who exceed quarterly billable expectations.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule.
  • CLE and professional development support.

If you are an experienced civil litigator looking for a position where you can take ownership of your matters, develop a specialized practice, and build a long-term career with an established California law firm, we encourage you to apply.
