Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our small bankruptcy practice. In this role, you will provide essential support to consumers seeking bankruptcy relief. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal support experience while contributing to impactful legal work in a fast-paced environment. No legal experience needed but must have a pleasant disposition.

Duties

• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence with precision and attention to detail
• Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as Bankruptcy case software Jubilee
• Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information for case development while maintaining confidentiality
• Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling appointments, and managing phone etiquette to ensure seamless communication
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,Adobe) for document drafting and data management
• Strong research skills combined with attention to detail in proofreading and document review
• Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
