If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for a wide range of legal support services in the Criminal and Civil Divisions. Typical work assignments will include: Assistance with case management and case presentations as well as automated case litigation and management programs; Case management and organization of case files; Automated support necessary to prepare, organize, index, develop, and manage exhibits, evidence, and data; Analyzes automated litigation support functions and monitors system use and response time; Prepares cases for litigation by collecting and evaluating evidence to support the position of the Government.
GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: uses software applications to extract electronic case materials from storage devices or download electronic case materials from secure file transfer sites; builds and maintains document review databases for litigation team use; uses software applications to copy electronic discovery productions to external media or file transfer systems; and assists with the creation of basic demonstrative exhibits. Education: Possess a Masters or equivalent graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, Criminal Justice): OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LLB. or J.D., if related. Education was obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of specialized experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal at least 100 percent of the requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) - The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
