About the Role:

Miller, Leiby & Associates, P.C. is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Litigation Associate to join their team in New York, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to build your litigation career at a respected law firm, handling complex insurance defense matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
Conduct depositions, examinations before trial (EBTs), and witness interviews
Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and oral arguments
Investigate claims, analyze coverage issues, and develop litigation strategies
Communicate regularly with insurance carrier clients regarding case status and strategy
Negotiate settlements and assist in trial preparation

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active admission to the New York State Bar
2+ years of experience in insurance defense, civil litigation, or related practice area
Familiarity with New York court procedures and civil practice
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience with depositions, motion practice, and discovery preferred
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple deadlines
