P.C. is seeking an experienced Processing Department Manager to oversee and manage

Ofshtein Law Firm, P.C. is seeking an experienced Processing Paralegal to join our Personal Injury Department.

We are looking for a candidate with prior experience working in a New York personal injury law firm who understands the processing and pre-litigation stages of a personal injury case and can independently manage assigned tasks and follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Handle personal injury cases during the processing/pre-litigation stage
• Communicate with clients and provide case updates
• Obtain and follow up on medical records and bills
• Request and obtain police reports and other accident-related documentation
• Obtain insurance information and coverage documentation
• Follow up with insurance carriers, medical providers, and other parties
• Prepare and send Letters of Representation
• Assist with No-Fault documentation and related follow-ups
• Maintain complete and accurate case files
• Review files for missing documents and outstanding items
• Follow up on assigned tasks and deadlines
• Document all communications and case developments in the case-management system
• Work closely with attorneys, supervisors, and other departments to move cases forward

Qualifications

• Prior New York personal injury law firm experience is required
• Experience handling personal injury case processing/pre-litigation
• Strong understanding of automobile accident cases and insurance-related documentation
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume workload
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies
• Experience with legal case-management software
• SmartAdvocate experience is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

We are looking for someone who already understands personal injury processing and can contribute with minimal training. The right candidate is organized, responsible, proactive, and knows how to identify what is missing from a file and take the necessary steps to obtain it.

This is a full-time, in-office position.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
