Family Law Legal Assistant / Paralegal

Women's Family Law Firm is a boutique family law practice in Orlando. We are a tech forward firm and we believe in using technology to work smarter and serve our clients better. We work entirely on Mac computers and cloud based systems. We do not use PCs. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with Mac computers and systems. About the Position

This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live in Central Florida. Training will be done in person with the managing attorney. We provide a phone and internet stipend, so you must have a reliable smartphone and a good working internet connection. Because this is a hybrid role, you must have a private, confidential home office where you can work without people coming and going (including children), and where client information stays protected. You must present professionally and be comfortable appearing on camera for Zoom meetings with clients, attorneys, and the court from time to time. Our office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and our phones are answered during those hours, so you must be available to work that full schedule.

Duties include:

• Answering phones
• Direct client interaction
• Calendaring and scheduling
• Filing and managing electronic case files
• Scanning, cloud programs, and cloud file management
• Collecting, organizing, and administering discovery
• Preparing for hearings and other court events
• Drafting pleadings and other documents, including using merge documents and templatesTaking on new tasks delegated by the attorneys that may not be listed here (we want you to grow with the Firm!)
• Requirements:Prior family law experience (required)
• Experience with Florida state courts and the Florida Courts E Filing PortalExperience with, or the ability to quickly learn, cloud services including Dropbox and Google Drive
• Experience with client management software
• Comfortable using Adobe Acrobat for PDFs, editing, and electronic signatures
• Familiarity with Mac OS and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Reliable smartphone and internet connection
• Must reside in Central Florida
• Must pass a background check

A plus:

• Florida Notary Public
• Bilingual in Spanish and English

The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills, is personable, and is comfortable learning new technology.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
