Litigation Legal Assistant

Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP is seeking experienced Litigation Legal Assistants to join our downtown Honolulu office. We currently have two opportunities available supporting different litigation practice teams.

Pay: $25.60–$33.17 per hour, based on relevant experience, skills, and other job-related qualifications
Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours when case needs require
Location: Downtown Honolulu, First Hawaiian Center

What You’ll Do

You’ll support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including:

  • Preparing, formatting, proofreading, and finalizing pleadings, motions, discovery documents, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal materials
  • Filing documents with Hawaiʻi state and federal courts and coordinating service of documents
  • Tracking court deadlines, hearings, filing requirements, and other important dates
  • Organizing case files, litigation materials, and document versions in the firm’s document-management system
  • Managing attorney calendars, meetings, court appearances, and travel arrangements
  • Communicating professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors
  • Assisting with attorney time entry, billing, expense reporting, and related administrative work
  • Collaborating with colleagues to manage priorities and meet case and client needs

Experience and Skills

We are seeking candidates with at least two years of experience as a litigation legal assistant, legal secretary, or in a comparable role involving substantive litigation support. Experience preparing litigation documents, coordinating filings, and managing deadlines will be especially valuable.

Successful candidates will bring:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Word document formatting
  • Excellent proofreading, grammar, organization, and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing assignments and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Clear communication, sound judgment, and discretion with confidential information
  • A proactive approach to anticipating needs, following through, and keeping attorneys informed
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
  • A Notary Public commission or willingness to obtain one with the firm’s support

Familiarity with Hawaiʻi court rules and filing procedures is strongly preferred. Candidates with litigation experience in other jurisdictions are also encouraged to apply.

You do not need experience in a particular area of litigation to be considered. We welcome qualified candidates from a range of litigation backgrounds who are ready to bring their existing skills to our team and learn the requirements of their assigned practice.
