Lasher is seeking an experienced Estate Planning, Business, Probate & Trust Legal Assistant to join our dynamic and energetic team.

OVERVIEW

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in an advanced, client-focused environment and has experience working with high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners. The Legal Assistant plays a critical role in the preparation and implementation of complex estate plans and in maintaining exceptional client service standards.

This position reports to the Firm Administrator and is part of the Legal Assistant group.

SCHEDULE

Full-time 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (a 37.5 hour work week). After successful completion of an orientation period (usually 90 days), this position is eligible to work from home one day per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Providing a link between the client and attorney – handling client questions and concerns.

Drafting routine correspondence and agreements under supervision of an attorney.

Maintaining up-to-date client files and tracking and following up with clients to maintain progress towards signing final documents.

With assistance of the Docketing Clerk, maintaining attorney calendars and appointments.

Obtaining client information needed for planning such as financial statements and records, - generating correspondence, verifying receipt of complete and correct information and following-up as needed.

Scheduling and coordinating meetings.

Creating and maintaining appropriate files reflecting the work done for clients, including ebinders of important documents.

General knowledge of corporate documents (e.g., minutes, articles of incorporation, bylaws, stock, minute books).

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, tax, or a related practice area;

College degree preferred (not required);

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems;

Must be extremely detail oriented and produce accurate work;

Must be able to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced work environment;

Must be organized and have great follow-through skills;

Must be solution driven and customer-service oriented;

Must be comfortable approaching clients and individuals at all levels within the firm by telephone, email correspondence, and in person with confidence and clarity;

Excellent verbal and communication skills (particularly written);

Strong people skills are imperative;

Ability to solve problems in a methodical, practical way;

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team; and

Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. and be able to be on your feet during the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS

No hazardous conditions (i.e. a typical office).

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS POSITION

Formal performance evaluations are normally conducted after the first 90 days and annually on the anniversary of date of hire or promotion.

Employee’s performance is evaluated in the following categories: quality; productivity; job knowledge; reliability; independence; planning and organization; problem solving; judgment; creativity; initiative; communication; adaptability; interpersonal relationships; adherence to policy; and attendance.

Other communications regarding job performance and expectations may take place from time to time and can be initiated by either Lasher management or employees.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
