About the Firm

We are a boutique law firm built around a simple idea: clients deserve responsive, high-caliber legal work without the overhead of a large firm. We handle estate planning and probate, business transactional matters, and civil litigation with a concentration on minority-owned businesses in the auto industry and a broader range of business clients across multiple industries.

We are a small, tightly-knit team that invests deliberately in the systems, training, and people that let our attorneys focus on legal judgment instead of administrative drag. We hire for ownership, proactive communication, and follow-through — and we build long-term career paths for people who want to grow with us.

About the Role

We are looking for a senior-level Discovery Paralegal to own the discovery workflow on our civil litigation matters, working on-site from our Columbus office. This is a standalone role — you will be the firm’s dedicated discovery specialist, working directly with our litigation attorney and managing attorney to turn incoming and outgoing discovery into something attorneys can actually use: organized, prioritized, and built for fast, confident decision-making at the deposition, motion practice, and trial stages.

This is not a generalist paralegal role. We need someone who lives and breathes discovery and can run the workflow independently from day one.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the full discovery lifecycle on civil litigation matters, including requests for admission, interrogatories, and requests for production
  • Review, code, and organize incoming productions using Nextpoint and Clio with consistent, attorney-usable coding conventions
  • Build chronological and issue-based timelines from discovery documents to surface key facts, gaps, and inconsistencies for attorney review
  • Triage and prioritize large-volume productions so attorneys are pointed to the most critical documents first
  • Track deficiencies in productions received and flag follow-up requests, motions to compel, and supplementation needs
  • Prepare and maintain privilege logs and confidentiality designations
  • Support drafting and responding to written discovery requests within the firm’s established formats
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready discovery files in Clio for every matter
  • Flag potential UPL, confidentiality, or conflicts concerns that arise during document review
  • Coordinate proactively with the litigation paralegal and attorneys on deadlines and case status

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of litigation support or paralegal experience with a substantial e-discovery focus
  • Hands-on proficiency with Nextpoint or a comparable e-discovery platform (Relativity, Everlaw, Logikcull); must be willing to learn Nextpoint if coming from another platform
  • Working proficiency with Clio or a comparable legal practice management system
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of documents accurately and under deadline pressure
  • Strong written communication skills — you will be summarizing and flagging findings for attorneys, not just organizing files
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload with reliable self-management
  • Ohio civil litigation and civil procedure familiarity, or ability to ramp quickly

Nice to Have

  • Paralegal certificate or degree
  • e-Discovery certification (ACEDS, Relativity Certified Administrator/Reviewer, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in commercial litigation involving dealerships or closely-held businesses
  • Experience building trial-ready chronologies or fact timelines for attorney use

Compensation & Performance Bonus

  • Base salary of $60,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience and certification
  • Anticipated billable work of 1,100 hours annually
  • Eligible for a performance bonus equal to 30% of amounts collected from clients for hours billed beyond the 1,100-hour annual minimum

Benefits

  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Unlimited PTO policy — with a required minimum of 2 weeks taken per year
  • After adequate training (typically 90 days) ability to work from home 1-2 days per week.

Work Environment

  • Based in our Columbus, Ohio office — this is an in-person role
  • Standard full-time business hours
  • Availability for periodic deadline-driven crunch periods common to litigation discovery

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

Application Question(s):

  • Do you have experience with e-discovery software such as NextPoint, Everlaw, or Relativity?

Experience:

  • Discovery Litigation: 5 years (Required)

Location:

  • Columbus, OH 43215 (Required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Columbus, OH 43215
