Criminal Defense Attorney, Phoenix, AZ

Our recruiting firm has been retained by an established Phoenix criminal defense practice to find an attorney who wants to be in the courtroom. This is a boutique firm with steady case flow, and the attorney we hire will have their own clients, regular court appearances, and real responsibility from the start.

The caseload is mostly misdemeanors with some felonies, including:

- DUI

- Drug crimes

- Domestic violence and assault

- Weapon charges

You'll work alongside experienced defense counsel on strategy, negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation. We welcome applications from current defense attorneys and from former prosecutors moving into private practice.

Responsibilities:

- Represent clients in criminal proceedings from initial appearance through trial

- Appear regularly in court throughout Maricopa County and surrounding jurisdictions

- Negotiate with prosecutors

- Conduct legal research and draft motions

- Prepare cases for hearings and trial

- Develop defense strategies

- Manage client communication and expectations

- Work with support staff and firm leadership

Qualifications:

- Active Arizona Bar license

- 2+ years of criminal law experience

- Strong legal writing and advocacy skills

- Ability to manage matters independently

- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
