Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in commercial litigation.
• Paralegal certification or equivalent training
• Demonstrated expertise in construction, mortgage, or business litigation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives

Technical Expertise Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Expert-level skills in Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Demonstrated experience with eDiscovery platforms and document review tools
• Proficiency in legal billing software, preferably Clio
• Experience with litigation support databases and case management systems
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technology tools and platforms, including competency in the ethical use of AI

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Discovery Management

• Develop and implement comprehensive discovery plans for complex litigation matters
• Coordinate document collection, review, and production processes
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
• Manage document review projects, including creating review protocols and quality control procedures
• Maintain detailed discovery logs and correspondence tracking
• Coordinate with vendors for electronic discovery services

2. Litigation Support

• Draft basic pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence
• Conduct fact investigations and document analysis
• Create and maintain case chronologies and fact summaries
• Assist in preparation of deposition materials and exhibit organization
• Coordinate with expert witnesses and maintain expert document collections
• Support trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and presentation

3. Case Management

• Maintain accurate litigation calendars and deadline tracking systems
• Create and update case management documentation
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
• Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members
• Monitor and track court filings and service of process
• Assist in budget tracking and litigation cost management

4. Research and Analysis

• Conduct basic legal research using online platforms
• Perform public records searches and title research
• Analyze documents for relevance and privilege
• Prepare detailed summaries of key documents and findings
• Support attorneys in case strategy development through organized fact presentation
