Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist who enjoys working with numbers, managing details, and providing exceptional client service. The perfect candidate is a detail orientated and enjoys being involved in the entire process, from opening a file, to setting up billing, through final payment and file closure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process attorney billing and client invoices
• Coordinate electronic billing submissions
• Maintain trust and retainer accounts, including deposits, ACH payments, and wire transfers
• Generate monthly and annual productivity reports
• Analyze billing data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Communicate with clients regarding billing matters and payment arrangements
• Open and close client files and assist with records management
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Provide occasional reception and administrative support as needed
• Backup accounts receivable and client payment processing
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven experience in billing or accounting roles, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and records management skills
• Proficient in database entry skills, Prolaw a plus
• Ability to analyze financial information effectively and communicate findings clearly
• Experience handling accounts receivable and financial transactions
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Professional communication and client service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Salary: $23-$25/hour
