Associate Lawyer

Salley & Salley, LLC is seeking an associate attorney to join our family law practice in Metairie. The associate will work directly with the managing attorney and paralegal on custody, support, divorce, and community property matters.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, wants to develop as a litigator, and follows through when a case becomes difficult. The right candidate is receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and confident enough to take ownership of assigned work while knowing when to ask for guidance.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, memoranda, and proposed judgments.
• Prepare for and attend conferences, hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Review financial records and other case materials.
• Manage assigned matters and deadlines, anticipate next steps, and keep the team informed of progress.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana law license in good standing.
• Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment, persistence, and the ability to work through challenging issues.
• Self-motivation and a demonstrated willingness to learn from feedback.
• Professional, clear communication with clients and colleagues.
• Family law or litigation experience preferred. Newly licensed attorneys are welcome to apply.

Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
