This litigation associate attorney position will enable the attorney to actively participate in the litigation process upon the commencement of employment. The associate must be currently licensed to practice law in Texas. The associate attorney will be working with an AV Rated, Board Certified, member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, with over a 100 jury verdicts. The associate will be drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, taking depositions, attending mediation, performing legal research, and acting as the second chair trial lawyer on larger cases and as the first chair lawyer at trial on smaller cases. We also handle our own appeals, so the attorney must be a skilled legal writer.
We handle primarily insurance defense matters involving extremely diverse and interesting cases, including defense of personal injury, wrongful death, breach of contract, construction defects, governmental immunity, parental liability, employer liability, alcohol provision liability, premises liability and many other topics. We do not defend mass tort matters nor do we handle many automobile wrecks.
We value intelligence and courtroom presence over litigation experience, but special consideration will be afforded to lawyers who do possess meaningful litigation experience. We are a small firm of four lawyers who enjoy working together with one another; therefore, a friendly, helpful, and respectful demeanor and an engaging personality are essential.
Harris Hilburn, PLLC is located in a beautifully restored historic building in Mid-Town Houston. As a small firm, we understand that sometimes family matters take priority over work, so long as the legal work is completed timely and skillfully. We have a 401-K plan, medical insurance plan, and free parking.
